Photoshoot with Nikki One of my favorite ways to find new models is by referral. That's how I met NIKKI, through our mutual friend Mahie. I'm always skeptical when a girl tells me that her friend is pretty. Boy, what a pleasant surprise!

After seeing my pictures of Mahie, Nikki wanted to shoot too. So we set our sights on a Monday photoshoot. The morning weather didn't look promising. Rain, stop, rain, stop. Hopefully, it would clear up by 4pm. Late afternoon is a good time to shoot outdoors, as the sun isn't too high in the sky. The rain eventually stopped but the clouds lingered, which was fine by me. I love cloudy days for shooting.

I met Nikki and her friend in a shopping center parking lot, they hopped in my truck and we took off to the shooting location. Bikini at the beach.

Nikki brought a selection of bikinis with her. We shot two outfits... one pink, the other white. Most models are nervous at their first photoshoot, but Nikki warmed up to the camera quickly. The wind was challenging, as it whipped her long, beautiful, black hair into a frenzy, but we adapted with strategic poses and positioning. After 2 hours and 200+ images, we wrapped.

While reviewing the day's shoot at a nearby Starbucks, I made the keen observation "You look like Kim Kardashian!". I posted sample images on MySpace and people agreed with me... Nikki's a mini-Kim :)

Though it was my first photoshoot with Nikki, she's now one of my favorite models to work with. I hope she reads this!
